Action : MASSOB leader, three others arrested in Delta for chanting war song

The coordinator of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, Anioma/Ndokwa East region of Delta State, Emeka Okafor, has been arrested by officials of the state police command.
Okafor, 52, was arrested along with three other members of MASSOB at a location in Omini-Ugboma community, near the Bridge Head in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, ASP Lucky Uyabeme, who confirmed the arrest late on Wednesday evening, said the police acted on a tip-off to effect the arrest of the MASSOB who he claimed were chanting war songs.

According to Uyabeme, six Biafran flags were recovered from the suspects, adding that Okafor was their leader.
Uyabeme said: “Four members of MASSOB were apprehended at Omini-Ugboma near the Bridgehead chanting war songs. The police are currently investigating the suspects to ascertain the motives behind their congregating at the location where they were arrested.”
The image maker debunked the rumours in some quarters that seven members had died in the hands of security operatives, explaining that the rumours gained grounds due to the “fact that family members of the suspects have not been notified.”
