I have made my speech and it is left for Nigerians to continue to debate on it. I owe nobody any apology
Chief Bisi Akande, the Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that he owed President Goodluck Jonathan no apology, for referring to him (Jonathan) as a kindergarten President.
Answering questions at a press briefing after the APC leaders’ meeting in Abuja on the call on him from some Nigerians to apologize to the President over his comment, Akande said: “the constitution of Nigeria is very clear; it allows for free speech. I have made my speech and it is left for Nigerians to continue to debate on it. I owe nobody any apology”.
He said the purpose of the meeting was to commence the process of sensitizing members and millions of supporters all over the country on what the party stands for: a party that represents and champions the aspirations of most Nigerian citizens.
He maintained that the APC is determined to bring the country back from the brink of collapse, despair, and possible disintegration. He added that the party is poised to reposition the country decisively with a view to making it emerge a modern and stable democratic nation, with a productive economy that is based on equity and justice for all citizens.
Chief Akande according to some Northern Members of APC, is a major stumbling block for Maj Gen Buhari's ambition to fly APC's flag in 2015, as the APC interim chairman see the association now with Buhari, it as a payback time for him.
Bisi Akande was sent to jail by Buhari's government, in what his supporters describe as a jungle justice and they are armed to politely stop Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari is what they must accomplish.
