For making inciting comments about the 2015 elections, the Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Mujahideen Asari-Dokubo.
The former Niger-Delta militant leader had in 2003 threatened chaos should President Goodluck Jonathan fail to return as president in 2015.
Following Dokubo’s comments, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had demanded that Department of State Servic (DSS) arrest Mujahedeen Asari-Dokubo, describing as reckless, irresponsible and totally condemnable his alleged threat to wage war against Nigeria even if President Goodluck Jonathan is defeated in a free and fair election in 2015.
”There is no better test of the fairness, non-partisanship and professionalism of the SSS than this Asari-Dokubo’s threat to levy war on his own country.
“If Asari-Dokubo is not above the laws of the land, he must be hauled before the SSS, just like the service did to our Deputy National Secretary, to explain his statement,” APC had said.
Asari-Dokubo’s threat was made on Channel’s TV programme, Politics Today, where he said; “2015 is already a settled matter; Goodluck Jonathan will be president in 2015. Whether they contest or they don’t contest, Goodluck Jonathan will be president,” adding that he would be ready for violence if needed.
In reply to comments credited to APC stalwart, former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, Dokubo warned that that “if they say the blood of the dogs and the baboon will be soaked in water on the street, in blood on the street, in salt water on the street, we will help them soak them in blood”.
The former Head of State was reported to have in May 2012 said that “If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood”.
