President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, launched into what was believed to be consultations with some prominent monarchs in the North and the South-west ahead of his purported re-election bid next year.

Nigerian high-life crooner Flavour spoke to Punch newspapers recently about his relationship with late musician MC Loph.

After MC Loph’s death, reports claimed his mum who has since passed away was disappointed in Flavour for never visiting or calling her. It was said that MC Loph was the one who accommodated Flavour in his house, when he first came to Lagos.

After his passing, Flavour sang a tribute in his honour titled “Iwe”. In the song Flavour mourned MC Loph and even talked about MC Loph accommodating him. Here’s what Flavour said in an interview with Punch:

Ghana – A first year student of the University of Education Winneba, has committed suicide after his name was published on the notice board as having failed in three subjects.

The student, name withheld for now, is said to have failed in three subjects and was due to be withdrawn.

The reason for the suicide is not yet know but it is believed that it was because of his pending dismissal from the school.

ALUU : 17-yr-old nabbed for sleeping with own mother, raping 4 children

THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Ebonyi State, yesterday, arrested a serial rapist and homosexual, Chibuike Maduka, who allegedly raped four children of different parents at Ndibe in Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect who blamed his strange sexual escapades on his mother, Mrs. Idam Augustina Josephine, confessed to have had sexual intercourse with his mother on several occasions and that he doesn’t know what usually compel him to have sex with children in the area.

Parading the suspect at the Command headquarters in Abakaliki, the state Commandant of NSCDC, Mrs. Ego Echendu, said the suspect was arrested after a tip-off by an indigene of the area, adding that the suspect had in a confessional statement disclosed that he had sexual intercourse with his mother.

He said: ”We got a tip-off and sent some of our men to follow up the information concerning an adolescent male who has been in the business of raping children.
