BREAKING NEWS:ARMED MEN ATTACK ENUGU GOVT HOUSE

It was learnt that the gunmen invaded the premises of the Enugu State Government House, but were overpowered by security operatives attached to the state governor, Mr Sullivan Chime.
Although no official statement has been made as to the real motive of the hoodlums, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Chukwudi Achife, confirmed that “security personnel attached to the Government House, Enugu, early this morning foiled an armed attack on the Government House by unknown persons.”

Achife  said “the attack occurred about 4.30 a.m. when a group of young men numbering about 50, carrying machetes and cutlasses invaded the Government House and tried to force their way in”.
“The attackers were immediately engaged by security personnel who shot one dead and arrested three while the rest escaped. One security personnel was injured in the attack.”
He added that the arrested persons, along with some of their weapons (machetes), had since been handed over to the Enugu State Police Command for further investigations.”
