Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has successfully undergone surgery for appendicitis.
The 44-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious pain on Monday before tests confirmed the problem.
A statement by the Spanish giants has now revealed that the operation on Monday was a
success and Enrique is expected to leave hospital within the next few days.
The former Barca midfielder – who played for the Spanish giants between 1996 and 2004 – was named Gerardo Martino's replacement in May.
Enrique signed a two-year deal in May after leading Celta Vigo to a ninth-placed finish in Spain last term having previously coached Serie A side Roma and the Blaugrana's 'B' side.
