Nigerian millionaires to hit 23,000 in next four years— Study
A NEW report published by New World Wealth has disclosed that the number of Nigerians having about N160 million investable funds has risen to 15,700 as at last year end. It said that about $82 billion of the wealth is held abroad.
According to the report “The number of people in Nigeria with investable assets of at least $1 million will jump to 23,000 by 2017, after increasing by 44 percent over the past six years to 15,700 in 2013.” The Johannesburg-based New World Wealth in a report published, yesterday, added that about 26 per cent of their $82 billion of wealth was held offshore last year, with the bulk of private-banking funds deposited in the U.K., Switzerland and the Channel Islands.
Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital is home to 9,500 millionaires, or 61 per cent of Nigeria’s total. Next to Lagos the report said is oil industry hub Port Harcourt with 1,300 and the capital Abuja with 600, according to New World Wealth. The oil and gas industry was the source of 24 per cent of this wealth.

President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

Jonathan assigned portfolios to the new ministers shortly after they took their oaths of offices at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Bomb Found Inside First Bank as Customers Run for Their Life
Tragedy was averted on Tuesday as a security guard attached to a branch of First Bank Plc in Osogbo, Osun State discovered an explosive substance wrapped in a polythene bag right inside the banking hall.
Immediately the discovery was made, bank workers and customers all took to their heels, with many of them leaving their hard earned money behind. It was indeed a dramatic situation as Nigerians struggle to pass through the bank’s security door, all at the same time.

Pastor in trouble for testing church member’s virginity
Thirty four-year-old Pastor Adekunle Kayode has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly fingering a member of his church (name withheld) to confirm her virginity.
The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday within the premises of the Jesus is the Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta.
A father of one, Kayode, was arrested by police detectives attached to the Kemta division after the victim allegedly narrated her ordeal to her father who informed the police.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest.
He said, “Kayode was arrested at his home on Okediyi Street, Abeokuta. Another suspect, Onatade Oluwasegun, 23, of Sheriff Onatade Street, Obantoko, was also arrested for conspiring with Kayode to use the victim for ritual purposes.

Nigerian Fuji Musician, Obesere Arrested For Rape
The Fuji musician has been accused of rape by a lady know as Miss Olaiya. Olaiya said she was introduced to the musician so he could help her with her business. Long story short, she spent the night in his house after the musician advised it was too late for her to go back home that night. Obesere later came to the room she was and allegedly pounced on her forcefully, and inserted a ring he wore on one of his figures in her private part after making love to her, which made her to start bleeding.
