Fires guts 6 houses in Jos on Christmas Day

A Christmas day fire outbreak has destroyed six houses at the Nigeria Police Force, ‘A’ Division Barracks, Jos.

The fire started at about 9.00 p.m. from the top floor of the two-storey building.
“Only two of the eight flats on the block survived the inferno after neighbours and men of the Nigeria Fire Service put out the fire,” one of the victims, a lady who declined to give her
name, said.

Mr Dominic Esin, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the Plateau Police Command, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the fire had not been determined.
