OMG: One killed, scores injured as Customs, youths clash over rice

Pandemonium broke out yesterday in Ikoko‑Ilashe community along  the Idiroko border in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State when some  Customs officials shot one dead and injured many others along the Idiroko border.

Vanguard gathered that the  violence  erupted  when some  youths  from three communities of Koko, Alaari and Ilashe resisted men of Customs in the state from evacuating over 900 bags of rice already  stockpiled in a warehouse at Koko village.

An eye witness told Vanguard that the Customs officials started shooting at the youths which hit the youth leader identified simply as Timothy while many, including women and children, were allegedly injured.

University of Ibadan student Taiwo Shittu molested & killed in her home

A student of University of Ibadan was raped and killed in  on February 19th 2014 in a home she shares with her sister at Opeyemi street, Gbagi in Ibadan.

27-year-old Taiwo Omolara Shittu, a 500 level student of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management was found dead lying lifeless in a pool of blood at about 5:30 p. m that day. Her sister returned from work to meet her dead with her pants down to her ankle and machete wounds in her head.

The murder weapon, a machete reportedly belonging to the man that cuts grass for them, was found in the room with blood stains.

Akolade Arowolo has been sentenced to death over the murder of his banker wife, Titilayo Omozeje in 2011.

An unholy alliance between a family and a native doctor has allegedly claimed the lives of two people in Zwall village of Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Kehinde Williams, a 12- year old pupil was alleged molested by four men who are her father's tenants and now she is pregnant.

8 year-old girl raped to death in Akwa Ibom

An eight year-old primary school girl has been raped to death by unknown persons in Ikot Ekang, Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.

Man, 25, in court for allegedly defiling 8-year-old girl

A 25-year-old unemployed man, Joseph John, was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday for allegedly defiling an 8-year-old girl.

John is facing a one-count charge of sexual assault by penetration.

The Prosecutor, Cpl. Ishaku Babaje, told the court that John committed the offence on Jan. 11 at 5.00 pm. at Chisco Waterside off Kusenla Road, Ikate, Elegushi, Lekki, Lagos.

LONDON (AFP) – Two Muslim extremists were found guilty Thursday of hacking to death a British soldier in broad daylight on a London street.

Michael Adebolajo, 29, and Michael Adebowale, 22, ran over Lee Rigby with a car before attacking him with knives outside his barracks in May.

Police parade wife of murdered NPDC staff, lover Pastor, others

THE Edo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded 19 suspected criminals, including a Pastor and wife of one Mr Isonguyo Victor, a Deputy Manager at the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) , who was allegedly murdered penultimate Friday by his wife and her Pastor lover.
