ABUJA — THE House committee on Aviation investigative hearing on alleged purchase of N255million bullet proof cars by the Minister of Aviation continues today amidst doubts that Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah will honour the summons asking her to appear before the committee today.
A member of the committee and spokesman of the House, Zakari Mohammed
told Vanguard, yesterday, that “the hearing must continue and must be concluded within the stipulated one week that the House gave us.
“We gave the minister enough time to re-align her travel schedules to enable her show up today.”
It will be recalled that Oduah had written a letter dated October 25 asking the committee to shift the date of her appearance to November 4.
The committee too had countered her letter insisting that she must appear today.
All seems set for the final phase of the investigative hearing fixed for today.
Chairperson, House Committee on Aviation, Nkeuruka Onyejeocha, weekend, said the investigative hearing on the alleged purchase of N255million bullet proof cars by the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah would be suspended till she comes back from Israel.
Onyejeocha said the “essence of our suspending the probe pending when she comes is to ensure that she gets a fair hearing. The truth is that you cannot try somebody in her absence and get a clearer picture of what transpired.
“We will not seat till on Wednesday by then the Minister must have concluded all her transactions in Israel.”
