On Thursday evening, following Real Madrid’s 4-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna for the Teresa Herrera charity trophy, in which Kaka scored a brace, the former Ballon d’Or winner spoke to the press and announced his desire to leave the club just four days before the close of the summer transfer window.
Depsite the midfielders, torrid spell at the Santiago Bernabeu, numerous teams, looking for a
late summer swoop have sounded out Real Madrid to open negotiations for Kaka.
Manchester United and Kaka’s former club, AC Milan were reported to be the front-runners, but Arsenal have emerged with an offer to take the Brazilian on a season-long loan.
It is unknown whether Arsenal will pick up the tab for Kaka’s €10 million salary, or if there will be an option to make the deal peremannt at the end of the loan spell, but it would definitely satisfy Kaka’s desire to get more consistent minutes at a top level club, while putting himself in the best position to make, what will likely be, his final chance to make the Brazilian national squad for the 2014 World Cup in his home country, which is the driving force behind his desired move.
